12. Who is that strange guy in the tuxedo hanging around
some of your web pages?
Armand -- We know him only as
Armand. He was a young man, hanging around on the block,
when we first met him all those long years ago.
We did, and still do, love his personality; his passion for
life; and, needless to say, his taste in clothing (obviously)
is exquisite! He desperately needed a job.
He was a stranger in a strange land. What could we
do but bring him into the fold and help him find his niche' in
our organization. Because he spoke very little -
if any - English, we all thought it best to place him where
his very presence alone "said all that needed to be said".
And so it is that our little Armand - our refrigerated case
rep - came to be.
13. What is included with delivery of my display case?
ICC (Interstate Commerce
Commission) regulations state that a common carrier (truck
line) is only required to position your freight onto the tail
of their truck unless your facility has a standard truck dock
height loading dock. In that case, the
carrier must position or place the freight on your loading
dock. If you have paid an additional charge for
lift gate service, the carrier must place the freight on the
ground at the point of delivery. If you have paid
for lift gate service plus inside delivery, the carrier must
position the crated material inside of your establishment.
It is the customer's responsibility to inspect the shipment
and then to sign the Bill of Lading that states you that you
have received your shipment in good condition.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should the Bill of Lading be signed if
there is obvious damage to your shipment. If your
case(s) are obviously damaged, refuse the shipment and notify
us immediately.
14. Display case 101 or what
is the difference between third view, full view, jewelry view
and other views?
Retail display cases are divided
into categories or types depending upon the display area or
glass module size. There are four (4) primary display
case types, i.e., extra view showcases, full view showcases,
half view showcase and third view which is also known as
jewelry view showcases.
Extra view display cases feature the largest view or
display area for your merchandise. A typical
display case is 38" high. The glass module, or display
area, on a typical extra view showcase is 34" tall. (A
4" high kick base is standard). The glass module can
have glass sides so that merchandise is visible from all
directions or it can feature slab or solid ends rather than
glass. A
full view display case, features a 26" glass display
module with a standard 8" wood base and a 4" kick base.
Half view display cases are standard with 18" of glass
display area with a 16" high base and 4" high kick for a total
of 38" inches. A third view, or
jewelry display case traditionally features a 12" high
glass display area with a 22" high base and 4" high kick.
Sit down jewelry cases are shorter in height and standard at
34" tall (12" H glass display area, 18" H base and 4" kick).
